Buying guide: Fragrance Oils

Our fragrance oils are cosmetic grade and made for soap, lotion, shampoo and candles. They hold their scent through melting and curing, so your finished products smell as good as the bottle.

Use up to 2% in melt and pour soap and 1% in leave-on skin products. Vanilla-based scents can turn soap beige over time; add a vanilla stabiliser if you want white bars.

Can I use fragrance oils in candles?

Yes. Most of our fragrance oils work in soy and paraffin wax at 6 - 10%. Check each product page for the recommended rate.

Do fragrance oils fade in soap?

Good-quality fragrance oils last months in melt and pour soap. Add fragrance at 60 °C, not hotter, and wrap bars to keep the scent in.
