Skin pH Soap Free Syndet Bar Base

About this product

This smooth white melt and pour base is made with soap-free syndet blend and is ideal for baby bars and skin-pH body bars. In practice, soap-free cleansers respect the skin's acid mantle for a comfortable wash. It arrives fully saponified, so there is no lye to handle - you simply melt, add colour and fragrance, pour and unmould.

How to use

1. Cut the base into small cubes for even melting.
2. Melt in a double boiler or in 30-second microwave bursts. Do not let it boil.
3. At around 60 °C stir in colour, then fragrance oil (up to 2%) or essential oil (0.5 - 1%).
4. Spritz the mould with rubbing alcohol, pour, and spritz the surface to pop bubbles.
5. Unmould after 2 - 4 hours and wrap in shrink film to keep the bars fresh.

Good to know

Being a syndet/low-pH base, it is not recommended for heavy clay or acidic fruit additions above 3%. Store the block sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sun.
